Walking with the rabbi

Hi Mike, its Mark Fieldhouse. Allison and I went on a couple mile hike this morning to review what she learned at the information meeting for our trip to Israel in June. We are pumped to be going! Allison was sharing what she had already learned from just the meeting and got me salivating on what is to come. I am listening to your second message on "follow the rabbi" as I type. Technology. Crazy. Who would have ever thought. Anyways, your name came up a lot and the things you learned and shared with us. We are so excited to look at things from an Eastern culture perspective instead of the Western. I almost feel that the Eastern thinking is so different that our Western minds don't even relate. This is how Allison and I feel sometimes being part of a house church that is in a society (church community) that does not relate to or questions the validity of it. Anyways we are looking forward to learning a ton, being challenged more than we can ever imagine, and getting closer to our "rock" not just the characteristics of God. We were discussing on our hike and wondering if you had any questions, answers or insight from your experience on your trip following your rabbi about "simple church". I know it is kind of a loaded question but don't let it be. I am interested particularly in your answer because you have worked in a traditional church, trip to Israel, worshipped in the hourse church, and now pastoring a traditional church. You have gone full circle and have been impacted by each experience. So...will you please share with us a little of what you have learned through your experiences and how house church fits into the Eastern culture and Western Culture?
