Adoption Day and Turning 5 Day
Yesterday was James' adoption day. The anniversary of finalizing the adoption process. It was on that day he legally became part of our family. And today is his birthday. He woke up this morning with a "it's my birthday!!!" shout. He's been counting down the days. In just a few minutes some friends will be coming over to help celebrate.
I just had this conversation with him.
Dad: So, you've been 4,3,2 and 1. You know what that's like. What do you think 5 will be like?
James: Umm. 5 will be bigger than those other ones.
Dad: What do you hope to do when your 5?
James: Play games, make crafts, go skating.
Dad: How do you want to grow in your relationship with God?
James: Share my heart.
Dad: What does that mean?
James: I don't know silly. You should know, you are a pastor!
Dad: What sports do you want to get better at when your 5?
James: I don't play any sports!
Dad: What about skating, or biking, or hockey?
James: Oh, ya. Can I eat some cake now?
There you have it.
The hopes and dreams of a 5 year old.

Going Public

Faith is meant to be lived out in everyday life: at school, with our friends or with our sport teams. Real faith is public faith. So we wanted to create a great Bible study called, “Going Public.” This will be a place for youth where they learn about Jesus, study the Bible and learn to live out their faith in everyday life. We also wanted to give youth a chance to explore what it means to profess their faith and do it with others who are still exploring or have done it already!
Starts January 22nd.
